The National Clearinghouse on Direct Care Workforce is an excellent resource for learning about all the various direct care worker initiatives going on around the country. You can search by state and/or by the various categories of practice (e.g., recruitment, entry-level training, peer mentoring, career advancement, supervision, etc.).


The site's Voices from the Frontline section features many moving stories and original essays by direct care workers themselves. It's a wonderful collection of inspiring first-person accounts of the joys and challenges of direct care work. Please check it out.
